What batch cooking really means

For beginners, batch cooking is partial prep, not cooking every meal in one giant session. Build components you can remix quickly.

Start with three building blocks

  • one protein
  • one carb base
  • two trays of vegetables

This creates multiple lunches and dinners with minimal effort.

Follow a simple sequence

Heat oven and water first, prep vegetables, cook grains, then protein, and finish with one sauce. Parallel tasks save time and energy.

Store food safely

Cool food, portion it, label dates, and keep sauces separate. Refrigerate 3-4 days and freeze extra portions.

Keep meals varied

Change seasoning, format, and toppings. The same base can become bowls, wraps, salads, and quick soups during the week.
